I’ve downloaded and had a go at the BBC Bitesize electronics exam paper and I’ve come out with (using very gerenral grading bands) something like a C! That came as a huge surprise, it seems as though I really don’t have that much confidence in my own knowledge of electronics, well that showed me! It’s been quite a surprise that I know more than I think I do, I mean there are things like potential dividers that I probably need to look over my notes again but all in all this has been a rather pleasant discovery.
I do have areas for improvement though, I really fell down on the sections involving 555 timers, Op Amps and Darlington drivers, after a quick flick through the syllabus these seem to fall under the umbrella of digital electronics which, as you can see from my audit analysis, is an area I’m definitely lacking in.
Looks like I finally have a focused area for development…
